Accra Sports Stadium

~ 2500 tonn.

The project regards the recovery and expansion from 25 000 to 40 000 seats of the Ohene Djan Sport Stadium, later called Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana’s capital city.

Only the lower part of the existing bleachers was salvaged, whereas the whole second tier and the roof of the West stand were built.

Moreover, the structure for the external giant screen outside the stadium and the sky box, an area for the press and TV, inserted above the central stand were also built.

The whole stadium was then covered with a special reflective metal mesh that varies in colour based on the impact of sun rays.

The stadium was completed in time to host the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.
